Mercury Consortium
Molecular Education and Research Consortium in Undergraduate computational chemistRY

MERCURY (Molecular Educational Research Consortium in Undergraduate computational chemistRY) is a consortium created by multiple undergraduate institutions with additional funding from NSF. Its aim is to promote research in computational chemistry and provide access to high performance computing resources for chemistry students and researchers at multiple primarily undergraduate institutions across the country. The current resources include:
  • An SGI Altix 3700 Bx2 (128 processors)
  • Three SGI Altix 350 (8 -32 processors each)
  • A Linux Beowolf cluster (152 cores)

The MERCURY conference is great venue that highlights research done by students at primarily undergraduate institutions. This year, the 11th annual MERCURY Conference in Computational Chemistry will be held at Bucknell University on July 26-28, 2012.
