As part of the Undergraduate Chemistry Supercomputer Research Consortium project, funded by the National Science Foundation, the chemistry department at Hamilton college has aquired a supercomputer for student and faculty research. Professor of Chemistry George Shields received a $782,220 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Major Research Instrumentation grant program. The grant allowed for a consortium of seven northeastern liberal arts institutions to acquire a supercomputer for various computational chemistry research projects.
